Representative to the Political and Security Committee
Ambassador Conrad Haessler has been serving as PSC Ambassador of Germany since August 2026. In his previous function, he was Chief of Staff for the State Secretaries at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin (2024-26).
Prior to this, he was leading the Foreign Office’s Strategic Communication unit (2022-24), following a role as deputy team lead in a unit dealing with the MENA-region, Asia-Pacific as well as Latin America at the Federal Chancellery (2018-22).
Postings abroad include Germany’s permanent mission to the United Nations in New York (2015-18), where he served as spokesperson during the campaign for a non-permanent seat on the Security Council. From 2007-10, he worked for the German Embassy in Beijing, as part of the cultural affairs team.
He holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University as well as a M.A. in European Affairs from Lund University (Sweden). He is married and has two children.
