In the second half of 2022, the Czech Republic will hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union
Germany assumed the G7 Presidency for one year on 1 January 2022. Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has set out a prevention and transformation agenda for the G7 Foreign Ministers.
Annalena Baerbock has been Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs since 8 December 2021.
Foreign Minister Baerbock will today open the annual conference of the Advisory Board for Civilian Crisis Prevention and Peacebuilding. This year’s Berlin Peace Dialogue will focus on current challenges for civilian crisis prevention and conflict management.
Dialogue events were held in numerous locations in Germany in June and July and a scenario simulation took place in Berlin in August. After five months, the dialogue process on the National Security Strategy is drawing to a close in Erfurt with a discussion together with Foreign Minister Baerbock.
Since Foreign Minister Baerbock took up her post, climate policy has been a priority of Germany’s foreign policy. The focus is on the connection between climate, peace and security.
